Why you need the PRM experience!

Our Focus is on Principal Leadership

If you are a new or even a veteran principal assigned to lead a school with challenges:

*Personnel

*Achievement

* Culture

If you feel that your task of bringing about positive change seems insurmountable:

§ Why am I Doing this?

§ What to do to be Successful?

§ Where to Start and How to Prioritize the Needs?

§ How to lead so that they follow?

Our Coaches are here to help because all of them succeeded despite the challenging experiences. Their success has always been measured by student outcomes:

*Title I Academic Achievement Awards

*California Distinguished School Awards

What's the secret behind all of their achievements is?

They All had a Coach to help them lead!

Because without a coach they would have never lead their schools to academic, cultural and social success. History shows that great leaders always have a person with whom they reflect and from whom they receive honest feedback. This feedback is important because it allows for the truth to be seen in a constructive fashion.

Focus on Principal Leadership

Why is our focus on Principal Leadership important?

Principals are key in guiding all stakeholders to engage in strategic school planning which is essential in today’s Post-COVID educational environment. Through this strategic school planning, specific actions are set, allowing for forward-looking principals to effectively respond to the challenges of learning loss. The success of the students lie’s in every principal’s plan of actions focusing on accelerating the learning of every student.

Principal Leadership is important because, it is the principal who looks into the future of every child by guiding the creation the vision. It is the principal who spearheads the alignment of the school plans, curricular programs and mission to ensure the growth of every student. It is the principal who guides the Professional Learning Community by analyzing DATA, guiding Equity walks, and ensuring inclusive and collaborative learning amongst all staffadministration and parents.

PRM enables the principals to prioritize their strategic planning, thus guaranteeing the

learning of every student, through the creation of a school plan that identifies the equities, the priorities and then provides the resources to drive the strategic actions for the success of all students. PRM empowers the principal to focus on a strategic school plan that:

  1. Ensures RTI and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports assists all struggling students.

  2. Ensures every student is learning Mathematics

  3. Ensures every student is learning to read grades TK-3 and reading to learn grades 4 - 12.

  4. Ensures every student is writing effectively

  5. Ensures every student is critically thinking

  6. Ensures an effective literacy and English Language Instruction for English Learners both Designated and Integrated

  7. Ensures the prevention and reduction of behavior problems

Student success is central to the mission of PRM. We believe that it is the principal of a school who must have the leadership skills to align all programs, the curriculum and assessment to the California Common Core State Standards. This alignment permits the educators to prepare students with "learning to learn skills," so that the students in turn have the self-efficacy to achieve their dreams of becoming a leader in their chosen fields and an engaged member in their community.

In today’s post COVID world, it is the principal who must create a cohesive school unit and understand the different styles of learning to be able to lead a united staff in creating a guaranteed / viable curriculum thus, ensuring the success of each and every student. "Why the principal?" Because research has linked Principal Leadership with student achievement... Drawing on detailed studies, "the research shows that most school variables, considered separately, have at most small effects on learning. The real payoff comes when individual variables combine to reach critical mass. Creating the conditions under which that can occur is the job of the principal. Indeed, Principal leadership is second only to classroom instruction among school-related factors that affect student learning in school" (Learning from Leadership: Investigating the Links to Improved Student Learning: Final Report of Research to The Wallace Foundation).

Under the leadership of an effective "great" principal the school is guided to better teaching and learning and thus providing the foundation for student achievement. "What is it that these great principals have in common?" "What do they do well in order for their learning organization to stand above the others?" According to the research from the Wallace Foundation, effective principals perform five key practices well:

1. Shaping a vision of academic success for all students.

2. Creating a climate hospitable to education.

3. Cultivating leadership in others.

4. Improving instruction.

5. Managing people, data and processes to foster school improvement.

PRM is fortunate to have a staff of highly qualified coaches and consultants that successfully transformed low performing schools. All of their schools were honored with either "Title I Academic Achievement Award" or "California Distinguished School Award." All of the school’s student population was 90% (or higher) free and reduced lunch and had a 50% (or higher) EL population. Thus the coaches and consultants have the personal experience to guide novice or veteran principals in transforming their schools.

The focus of the coaches will be on helping the principals unite the range of variable leadership patterns (Leading from a Different Chair) that exist in the schools such as: teachers, parents, instructional coaches, aides and assistant principal into a single united front focused on a single vision of student achievement.

PRM empowers principals to focus on student success in all its forms—student equity, academic success, curriculum alignment, resource alignment, personal growth, and retention rates— to ensure their students’ successful transition from the TK - 12 system to the academic or technical college.

With Principals Really Matter you will be more prepared with the challenges of post – COVID student learning. We guarantee positive results of increased student learning asmeasured by state and local testing.
